The Yorkshire Dales is an area of great natural beauty in
northern England, a large part of which has been designated
as one of England and Wales' protected National Parks.
Much of the landscape in this national park is limestone country - lush green
valleys (known locally as "dales") crested with
white limestone cliffs ("scars") and limestone pavements
("natural rock outcrops") cutting through wilder
uplands beneath towering peaks ("fells") of dark
millstone grit.
An outstanding place to go walking with superb natural scenery,
the Dales also offers ancient villages and Wensleydale cheese
!

Steeped in the history of early Christianity we offer a Guided
walk along St. Cuthbert’s way from Melrose to Lindisfarne.
This beautiful 62 mile walk passes the Eildon Hills and Dryburgh
Abbey, and then runs through the lonely Cheviot Hills, before
crossing into England and finishing at Lindisfarne (Holy Island)
with its monastic ruins, Sir Edwin Lutyens castle and Gertrude
Jekyll's garden.
In a 5 day walk we track the chronological sequence of Saint
Cuthbert from his earlier association with Melrose to his
later life on the Holy Isle, taking time out to see places
of interest along the way.
